Services for Lois McGlasson, 84, of Temple, will be 10 a.m., Thursday, February 1 at First Baptist Church of Temple with Brother Roy Parker officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, February 2, in Heflin Cemetery, north of
Brownwood.
Mrs. McGlasson passed away Sunday, January 28, in Temple.
Lois Rahyle McGlasson was born July 10, 1933 in Hamburg, Arkansas to Dan Smith and Eddie Leigh Blake Smith. She graduated Salutatorian from Hamburg High School in Hamburg, Arkansas, where she was the editor of the
school paper. She attended Arkansas A&M University for two years, and then worked for the U.S. Forestry Service. She married Ed Harrington McGlasson in 1954 and was a homemaker. Mrs. McGlasson was active in the WMU
serving as WMU Director, Associational GA Director, and GA leader. She taught Sunday school for over fifty years until she retired from teaching the Beacon Class two years ago. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of
Brownwood.
Mrs. McGlasson was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and her husband of almost 52 years, Ed Harrington McGlasson
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Carol McGlasson and Janice Ann McGlasson Sweet; son-in-law Doctor David Sweet; three grandchildrin, Michael Sweet, Katie Sweet and James Sweet; and two great-grandchildren.
Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of arrangements.
