Lloyd Craig Hodge died August 17, 2013 in Temple, Texas at age 60. He was born September 1, 1952 in Fairbury, Nebraska to Lloyd John Hodge and Clara Louise Reisch Hodge. He was the first of their four children. He grew up near Stephenville, Texas.
His son Lloyd David Hodge preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Mindy Butts Hodge of Temple daughter Tara Andrea Hodge of Nevada and son Joshua Wayne Hodge of Cordova, Tennessee. His grandchildren are Taylor Brook Hodge, Dillon Michael Hodge, David Slade Hodge, Diana Serenity Scheffield, and Skylar Scheffield. His great granddaughter is McKenna Claire Hodge. He was the older brother of Stephen Dale Hodge of Stephenville, Texas Cindy Hodge Stormer of Gainesville, Texas and Debra Louise Hodge Lay of Mansfield, Texas.
He was a dispatcher for Dupre Logistics, a regional trucking company in Houston, Texas. He had various jobs and lived throughout the United States. He worked as a machinist, a dispatcher for the railroad, building radio towers, salesman vacuum cleaners, ads, cab driver, electricians assistant, printer, and truck driver. His first job was in a restaurant, eventually becoming a cook. He was a good cook throughout his life.
He was loved by his family and was known as being a very generous, intelligent person with a strong work ethic. He was a true servant of the Lord and will be missed by those who loved him.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday August 24, at Calvary Baptist Church at 1102 S. 35th Street, in Temple, Texas.
