Services for Lillian Maureen Herring, 86, of Temple will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with Ernst Minor officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Herring died Thursday, February 5, at her home.
She was born September 27, 1928 in Carthage, Missouri to Sol Bishop and Ella Campbell Bishop. She lived in the Temple area since 1966 and was a member of the Church of God of the First Born and involved in Bible ministries. She attended McLennan Community College to become a nurse's aide and was later named a nurse's aide of the year. She raised four children and some of her grandchildren; enjoyed knitting afghans, going to garage sales, and collecting antique dolls and music.
Mrs. Herring was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Floyd; her parents; brothers George and Bobby; a daughter, Connie Larson; and a grandson, Jerry Herring, Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Gilbert Caldera; son Jerry Herring; daughters Rosemary Holladay and Debbie Mitchell; sisters Margie, Rosemary, Ester, and Barbara; eleven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m. Monday, February 9, at the funeral home.
