Mr. LeRoy C. Bud Fisher, Jr., 84, of Troy, died Monday, December 15, 2008 in a Temple hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 22, 2008 at Roberts Cemetery in Troy.
Mr. Fisher was born to LeRoy Cecil Fisher, Sr. and Bonnie Romans Fisher in DesMoines, Iowa on October 25, 1924. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater. He was co-founder of the Country Music Assn. of Texas. He was formerly a radio personality at WACO and KBGO in Waco and KORA in Bryan. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 1820 in Temple. Mr. Fisher had been a resident of Central Texas since 1986.
Survivors include two sons, LeRoy C. Fisher III of Troy and David Fisher of Austin; Donna Elsom of Colorado, Marilyn Drako of Nashville, Tennessee and JoLee Kearshens of Austin; one brother, Scott Fisher of Olympia, Washington; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine V. Fisher in 2003.
