Leon Victor Jezek Jr., a lifelong resident of Temple, Texas, passed away on March 18, 2026, at the age of 79.
Born on July 27, 1946, in Temple, Texas, Leon was a man whose life reflected quiet strength, resilience, and a deep connection to his hometown. He graduated from Temple High School in 1964 and went on to further his education at Texas State University in San Marcos, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1969.
Leon built a strong and steady career through years of hard work and dedication. He owned his own construction company and worked as a bricklayer for a few years and later spent eight years working on the railroad in Temple. He ultimately went on to serve for 20 years with the Texas Workforce Commission, where he retired. Throughout his life, Leon took great pride in his work and was known for being dependable and committed in every role he held.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon V. Jezek Sr. and Martha Pacha Jezek, and by his sister, Barbara Jezek Brown. Their memory remained close to his heart throughout his life.
Leon will be remembered as a man of quiet determination and integrity—someone who worked hard, lived simply, and carried himself with dignity. His life stands as a reflection of perseverance, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who know and love him.
A visitation in Leon's honor will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at 12:00PM at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple, Texas, followed by a funeral service at 1:00PM.
