Lee Edwards

Mr. Lee Allen Edwards, 89, of Temple, and formerly of Romance, Arkansas, died Friday, January 30, 2009 at his residence in Temple.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with Rev. John Sammons officiating. Burial will follow in Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.

Mr. Edwards was born to George Washington and Luticia Taylor Edwards in Taylor, Arkansas on February 28, 1919. He married Velma Haynes on November 18, 1942 in California. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Prior to his retirement, he was en-gaged in farming. He was a charter member of Marshall Road Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Arkansas. He was presently a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Temple.

Survivors include his wife, Velma Edwards of Temple; 3 sons, George Edwards and Raymond Edwards, both of Jacksonville, Arkansas and Ronald Edwards of Cabot, Arkansas; 2 daughters, Carol Edwards and Donna Waddill, both of Temple; 1 sister, Narine Jardon of Louisiana; 9 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.
