Graveside services with military honors for David Kimberly "Kim" Elliott will be 1 p.m. Monday, January 22 at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. A memorial gathering will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, January 22, at Aces High Saloon and Grill, 2001 West Adams Avenue, Temple, 76504.
Mr. Elliott died Monday, January 8, at his home in Temple.
Kim Elliott was born November 25, 1952 in Ft. Worth, Texas to James Malcolm Elliott and Norma Lee Haley Elliott. He graduated from Temple High School in 1971 and joined the United States Marine Corps. He served in Vietnam and was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with One Star, the Combat Action Ribbon, the Rifle Expert Badge, and the National Defense Service Medal. Upon his discharge in 1973, Kim attended Temple Junior College and worked for the family insurance company. He later became certified in Asbestos Abatement and Removal, worked in Sales, and worked as a Security Officer for APT. He met his best friend, Stephanie Sprout, in 1990 and they married in 2000. Kim enjoyed motorcycles; fast cars, especially his Mustang; and scuba diving all over the world. He was fiercely patriotic and enjoyed "living the dream".
Kim Elliott was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Lee Elliott.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Stephanie; stepsons Mike and Brad Farr; daughter Stephanie Dance and husband Will; brother, Mark Elliott and wife Jeannie; and nephews Todd and Forest.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Kim's memory may be made to VFW Post #1820, 3302 Airport Road, Temple, Texas 76504 for locally disabled Veterans.
Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of arrangements.
