Kevin Peter Schauer

Kevin Peter Schauer, 60 of Troy, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2025. Services will be held Monday, February 17, 2025, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with a visitation starting at 2 pm and service immediately following at 3 pm.

Kevin was the beloved husband of Teresa Schauer, with whom he shared a deep and enduring love for 19 years. Together, they lived life to its fullest, traveling the world and making memories that will forever be cherished. Kevin was a devoted father to his daughters, Brianna Gilmartin (wife Hayley) and Tayler Vangelas (husband Tim), and a proud grandfather to his grandson, Declan Gilmartin. He is also survived by his stepchildren Tera Summers, Nick and Gianna Floria.

Kevin was passionate about his work in accounting and finance, dedicating himself to his craft with an unmatched work ethic. He found joy in helping others and was always a trusted figure in his profession. His love for his family was immeasurable, and he took great pride in his daughters, making countless trips to New Jersey to visit friends and family from their years spent in Monroe Township and Fairfield.

Outside of work, Kevin was known for his love of weightlifting, Bruce Springsteen, and Penn State football. Whether enjoying a drink with friends by the pool or at Neko's Tavern, or sharing a laugh with loved ones, he approached every moment with a smile and a sense of joy that was contagious. His larger-than-life personality and zest for life left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.

Kevin's legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever remember his warmth, generosity, and unwavering love. He was a man who lived fully and loved deeply, and he will be missed more than words can express.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date in New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St.Jude's Hospital in Kevin's memory.
