Kenneth Key

March 29, 1935 — June 7, 2017

Visitation for Kenneth Ray Key, 82, of Clifton will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Moody Leon Methodist Church followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 am with Pastor Dennis Rejcek officiating. A Private burial will follow at the Buckhorn Cemetery.

Kenneth R. Key died on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Providence hospital in Waco.

Kenneth Ray Key was born on March 29, 1935 to Jim Ed Thomas Key and Lona Mae Holder Key in the Buckhorn Community near Moody, Texas. Kenneth attended the Buckhorn grammar school , The Grove Middle School and graduated from Moody High School in 1953. On June 7, 1958 he married Carrie Lee Gilliam and together started their family. Kenneth was a manager of a grocery store in the White Hall Community and later partnered with his brother John to have Key's Garage in Oglesby, Texas. He was an excellent machinist and could fix just about anything. He worked for Macax, Precession Products and C & H Die-casting before retiring as a supervisor machinist from Material Transport Company. He was a devout Christian. His hobbies included music, gardening, fishing, and being with his family. He instilled the life lesson of being a hard worker to his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, John Key, Jim Key, and Carl Key, and one sister, Mary Reeves.

Survivors include two sons, Brad Key and wife Kelli of Aledo, Greg Key and wife Joyce of South Mountain, a daughter, Tracy Vandiver and husband Bill of Clifton, two sisters, Virginia Dean and Eva "Eva Jo" Hicks both of Moody , ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Moody Leon Methodist Church is located at FM 2601 Moody Leon Rd., Moody, Texas 76557
