Kenneth Gerard

Kenneth Glenn Gerard, 81, of Temple, died Tuesday, September 2, 2008 in a local hospital.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, September 4, 2008 at Pleasant View Cemetery in Troy with Rev. Ernest Thompson officiating.

Mr. Gerard was born in Valera, Texas on December 20, 1926 to Kenneth Stewart Gerard and Wouida Lynch Gerard. He was a manager for Pier I Imports and served in the U.S. Army during World War II, receiving the World War II Victory Medal and the Germany Occupation Medal. He married ruby Rea on November 6, 1978.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Rea Gerard of Temple; stepdaughter, Connie Phillips and husband, Douglas of Waco; and brother-in-law, Freeland Rea of Temple.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-5 P.M. at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
