Katherine Amant

Katherine Kay Lawson St. Amant, 86 of Temple, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2009 in a local care facility. Graveside service will be 11:00a, Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Hillcrest Cemetery with Dr. Don Lynn officiating.

Katherine St. Amant was born November 25, 1922 to Ira Clyde and Katie Dunham Lawson in Cameron, Texas. On October 30, 1943, she was married to Harold A. St. Amant, Sr. in Temple. She worked as a Medical Secretary for the V.A. Hospital in Temple, and as a Medical Librarian for Kings Daughters Hospital in Temple. She also worked as a housewife. Katherine St. Amant was a member of Gold Star Wives. She was also a member of First Christian Church in Temple.

Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, a daughter, Emlee K. Lester, a grandson, Howard Paul Lester, brother, Howard Mac Lawson, and sister, Frances Andea.

Survivors include: Son, Harold Sonny St. Amant, Jr. and wife Eileen of Temple, sister, Blanche Kelly of Atlanta, Georgia, grandsons; C.K. Lester of Wylie, W.D. Lester of Mesquite, A.J. Lester of Nashville, Tennessee, and Anthony St. Amant of Denton, and granddaughter, Amanda Schuetze of Temple.

Visitation will be 5:00pm-7pm Tuesday at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
