Julio Medrano

July 31, 1924 — January 15, 2012

Julio Medrano, 87, of Temple, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2012 at a local nursing home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, with Rev. Tom Chamberlain officiating. Burial will follow in Bellwood Memorial Park. A visitation will be from 5:007:00 PM, with Rosary at 7:00PM, Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at HarperTalasek Funeral Home, Temple.
Julio was born July 31, 1924 in Corpus Christi. On August 1, 1946 he married Juanita Perez. He served in the Navy during WWII, Appache Squad Alcorn 7. He retired from American Desk in 1989 and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, where he was a member of Cursillistas De Colores and a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus 3444. Julio was also a lifelong member of VFW Post 1820 and volunteered at the Temple Veterans Hospital.
He was preceded in death by daughters Mary Helen, Rose Mary, and Frances.
Julio is survived by his wife of 67 years, Juanita Medrano of Temple sons, Robert Medrano of Troy Thomas Medrano of Temple Michael Medrano of Temple daughter, Esther Haufler of Temple brother, Aurelio Martinez of Idaho 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and a host of dear friends
