Juanita Champion, beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025, at the age of 62. She was born on September 8, 1962, in Temple, Texas, to Joe Champion and Mary Luz Medrano.
Juanita was one of eight siblings, sharing a deep bond with Virginia Ann Hernandez, Mario Champion, Anna Champion, Joey Champion, Lanora Flores, James Champion, and Mary Champion-Smith. She pursued higher education at West Texas State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Education. After teaching for three years, she transitioned to a career as a parole officer, dedicating her life to justice and rehabilitation until her retirement in 2017.
A woman of unwavering faith, Juanita was a beacon of strength and kindness. She never met a stranger, treating everyone with warmth and compassion. Her love extended beyond blood, embracing her two children, Mariah “Jade” Hampton and Roland “Jared” Hampton, as well as her cherished adopted grandchildren, Aria, Camron, and Amarie.
She was engaged to John Davidson, with whom she shared a deep and abiding love. Juanita’s presence filled every room with joy, wisdom, and laughter. Her legacy of love, faith, and resilience will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
Though she is no longer with us, her spirit remains a guiding light. She will be profoundly missed, but her love will forever echo in our hearts.
