Juan Luna Carrizales passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2013 in Temple, Texas.
Services will be held Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Temple, Tx with Rev. Tom Chamberlain officiating. Burial will follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen Texas.
He was born in Bartlett on July 24, 1954 to Benita Luna Carrizales. He attended Temple High School and graduated in 1975 from Nuremburg, Germany. While living in Germany, he worked for Aafes and traveled to Rome, Spain, Italy and Hawaii. After returning to the states in 1977, he lived in New Jersey, and joined the Marine Corps in 1977. He was attached to the 2nd BN 7th Marine 1st Marine Division at Camp Pendleton, California. While in the military as a mortar, he served in Okinawa, Japan and Korea. He was Honorably Discharged from the Marines in 1991. Then he began remodeling homes and working as a security guard.
He married Ruth Wenger in Temple, Texas in 1984 and in 1986, God sent them the best gift ever, a daughter, Elena Carrizales.
He was preceded in death by a grandson Devon Mitchell Carrizales.
He is survived by his parents Benita and Daniel Carrizales of Temple, his siblings Teresa Huggins and husband Walter of Temple, Daniel Carrizales Jr. and wife Shirley of Houston, Angie Gloria and husband Tino of Rogers four granddaughters, Victoria, Brooklyn, Ashtyn, and Heather, and four nieces and nephews, Walter Huggins Jr., Christopher Huggins, Daniela Huggins, and Jenna Gifford, great nephews Tony Huggins, Nickolas Huggins, Gabriel Boswell, Isaiah Huggins, and a great niece Eston Gifford. Juan was a very loving man. He placed his trust in God and was willing to live each day as the Lord had planned. It was through his faith the he found his sobriety and peace within himself. A visitation will be Tuesday, January 29, 2013 from 68 at HarperTalasek Funeral Home Temple with a rosary at 7.
