On Tuesday, April 21, 2020, Joyce Ann Green, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away at age 86.
Joyce was born on June 2, 1933, to Angie Cottle and Vernon Miller in Lockhart, TX. Joyce lived most of her life in Temple, TX and married Garlin Joseph Green on December 27, 1952, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Temple. They raised three sons, David, Jay, and Alan. Joyce worked as a bookkeeper and assisted her husband at Garlin Green's Garage for many years while also caring for numerous grandchildren at her home. Joyce enjoyed being with her family more than anything and will always be remembered for her love of babies and bluebonnets. Her cooking was not only the highlight of family gatherings and holidays, as she prepared lunch for many family members daily. She loved to fish along with Garlin, her sons and grandchildren and made many trips to Rockport, TX with the entire family. Joyce loved to crochet and bestowed many gifts to her grandchildren, along with booties and blankets for babies of family and friends.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, E.M. Pollak, as well as her husband, Garlin, and sister, June Hallford. She is survived by her sisters, Janet Green of Temple and Anita Morrow of Decatur. Other survivors include son, David Green and wife Deborah of Academy; son Jay Green and wife Susan of Temple; son Alan Green of Rogers, as well as six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
