Josephine Perez

Josephine Perez, 87 of Temple, passed away Friday, November 26, 2010 at her residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am, Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Temple with Rev. Tom Chamberlain officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple.

Josephine Perez was born February 24, 1923 to Adrian and Luisa Galvan Hernandez in Jones Prairie, Texas. On September 10, 1949, she was married to Rogelio Perez in Temple, Texas. Mrs. Perez worked as an elevator operator at the Hotel Hawn in Temple. She also worked for what is now Pace American Inc. in McGregor, where explosive devices were manufactured during World War II. Mrs. Perez was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2006, a son, Roy Perez in 2003, 3 brothers, and 3 sisters.

Survivors include: daughters Linda Warren and husband Bill of Temple, Lydia Perez of Temple, sister, Luz Gamez of Hammond, Indiana, 9 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 68:00pm Monday, November 29, 2010 at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Temple. Rosary will be recited at 7:00pm.
