Josephine Louise McDonald

Josephine McDonald, 81, of Temple passed away Saturday, February 23 at a local nursing home. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 26, at the First Church of The Nazarene in Temple. Reverend Dan Boesel will officiate.

Mrs. McDonald was born May 7, 1926 to Lester B. and Eva M. Potter MacDonald in Mountain View, New Jersey. She married Lester A.McDonald June 26, 1952. She worked as legal secretary in Pompton Lakes, NJ for 10 years before moving to this area in 1994. Here she worked over 5 years as office manager for the Temple Literacy Council and was a Literacy Tutor volunteer for 13 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, Viola Snelson. She is survived by son, Andrew L. McDonald of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; daughter, Judy A. Bloedorn of Rogers; 2 sisters, Eve Solimene of Matamoras, Pennsylvania and Shirl Scheulen of Fairlawn, New Jersey; 5 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren.

Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of arrangements.
