Jose Torres

Jose Andres Torres, 55, of Temple, passed away on February 22, 2026, in Temple, Texas.

He was born on September 26, 1970, in Rio Verde, San Luis Potosí, Mexico, to Delfino Torres Garcia and Ma. Agustina Becerra de Torres.

Jose worked as a mechanic and dedicated many years to his trade. He was a welder at Texas Hydraulics for 35 years and later worked at Gerardo Auto Repair for 5 years. He was known for his strong work ethic and the pride he took in his work.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Cruz of Temple; and their sons, Andres Torres and Adrian Torres.

He is also survived by his mother, Ma. Agustina Becerra de Torres; his siblings: Lore Torres and her husband Armando Martinez; Mariana Torres; Lupita Torres and her husband Hector Muñoz; Arturo Torres and his wife Maria Torres; Jesus Torres and his wife Patricia Torres; Margarita Torres; Maria Bernardita Torres and her husband Gerardo Romero; David Torres and his wife Martha Briones; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Delfino Torres Garcia, and his brother, Efrain Torres.

He is also survived by his wife’s family: Rene Cruz and his wife Flor Cruz; Nelly De La Garza and her husband Manuel De La Garza; Pedro Cruz and his wife Mariana Cruz; Jorge Cruz and his wife Rubi Cruz.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, February 25, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple, with a rosary at 7:00 p.m.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 26, at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Temple.

José Andrés Torres, de 55 años, residente de Temple, falleció el 22 de febrero de 2026 en Temple, Texas.

Nació el 26 de septiembre de 1970 en Río Verde, San Luis Potosí, México, hijo de Delfino Torres García y Ma. Agustina Becerra de Torres.

José trabajó como mecánico y dedicó muchos años a su oficio. Fue soldador en Texas Hydraulics durante 35 años y posteriormente trabajó en Gerardo Auto Repair durante 5 años. Era conocido por su sólida ética laboral y el orgullo que sentía por su trabajo.

Le sobreviven su amada esposa, Nancy Cruz, residente de Temple; y sus hijos, Andrés Torres y Adrián Torres.

También le sobreviven su madre, Ma. Agustina Becerra de Torres; sus hermanos: Lore Torres y su esposo Armando Martínez; Mariana Torres; Lupita Torres y su esposo Héctor Muñoz; Arturo Torres y su esposa María Torres; Jesús Torres y su esposa Patricia Torres; Margarita Torres; María Bernardita Torres y su esposo Gerardo Romero; David Torres y su esposa Martha Briones; y numerosos sobrinos y sobrinas.

Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, Delfino Torres García, y su hermano, Efraín Torres.

También le sobreviven los familiares de su esposa: René Cruz y su esposa Flor Cruz; Nelly De La Garza y su esposo Manuel De La Garza; Pedro Cruz y su esposa Mariana Cruz; Jorge Cruz y su esposa Rubí Cruz.

El velorio se llevará a cabo el miércoles 25 de febrero, de 18:00 a 20:00 h, en la Funeraria Harper-Talasek de Temple, con el rosario a las 19:00 h.

El servicio fúnebre se llevará a cabo el jueves 26 de febrero a las 14:00 h en la Iglesia Católica de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe de Temple.
