Jose Santiago

Jose Camacho Santiago, 85, of Temple died Friday at his home. Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Mass of Christian burial will be 11 am, Monday, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Temple with Rev Tom Chamberlain officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Mr. Santiago was born November 14, 1923 to Manuel Camacho and Maria Santiago in Catano, Puerto Rico.

He served his country in the Army from 1944-1955. On June 27, 1991, he married Juanita Almanza. Mr. Santiago worked for McLane Company, and for the City of Temple Parks Recreation Dept for many years. He also worked as a school crossing guard for TISD. Jose Santiago was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Temple.

Mr. Santiago is preceded in death by son, Jose Luis Camacho.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita Santiago of Temple; children, Andrew Wozniak of Temple and Ruby Favela-Prezas of San Antonio; nephew, Manuel Resto of Killeen, great nephew, Emmaul Resto of Killeen, and 5 grandchildren .
