Johnny Sodek

Mr. Johnny R. Sodek 83, of Temple died Monday, July, 18, 2011, at a local nursing home. He was born May 16, 1928 to the late Anton J. Sodek and Matilda Naivar Sodek in Ratibor. He proudly served his country from 19441945 during WWII as a firemanwater tender in the Coast GuardMerchant Marines.
He married Lena Beatrice Brocker in Dallas on November 9, 1946.
Mr. Sodek has lived in this area his entire life. He was owner of CenTex Tile Floors and a member of American Legion Post 133 in Temple.
Mr. Sodek is preceded in death by his parents his loving wife, Lena Beatrice Brocker Sodek infant son, Gerald Sodek brothers, Bernard Sodek, Albin Sodek, Jim Sodek, and Franklin Sodek and sister, Leona Terrell.
He is survived by his daughters, Donna Baird and husband, Charles of Belton, Sharon Zeinert and husband, Bill of Morgans Point Resort, Susan Wishert and husband, D. C. of South Texas, Cindy Stary and husband, Mike of Temple, and son, Johnny Bubba Sodek Jr. and wife, Kim of Temple brother, Bob Sodek and wife, Sophie of Temple 21 granchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Harper Talasek Funeral Home in Temple. Burial will follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen at 12:00 p.m. noon.
