Johnny Medina

Services for Johnny Gamino Medina, 69, of Academy will be 10:00 am on Thursday December 17, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Temple with Father Steve Sauser officiating. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco at 1:00 pm.
Johnny Medina passed away on Sunday, December 13th at his home.
Johnny was born on March 28, 1946 to Celestino and Herminia Gamino Medina in Bartlett, Texas. He married Bonnie Caldera on May 5, 1972. Johnny was a proud father of four children. He lived in San Antonio and moved to Academy. Johnny was a family man and enjoyed having a house full of family and friends. Some of his favorite things in life were walks in the park, watching Nascar racing, the Dallas Cowboys, and playing pool. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Preceded in death are his parents and brother, Victor Medina.
Survivors include his wife of forty-three years; daughters, Sandra Ramirez; Carolyn Ramirez and husband Pascual, Dolores Magana and husband Joe; son, George DeLeon Sr. and wife Rachel; brother, Florentino Medina and wife Linda; sister, Mamie Guzman and husband Nick; sister-in-law, Gregoria Medina; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 pm with rosary recited at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday December 16th.
