Johnie Elsenburg, Jr.

Johnie William Elsenburg Jr., age 73 of Troy, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at home. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Monday, January 24, 2022, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Temple. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery in The Grove.

Johnie was born on January 22, 1948, to Johnie Sr. and Blandina Elsenburg in Regensburg, Germany. He married Bernice Winkler Elsenburg on December 30, 1973 and received an Associates in Business Management from Temple Junior College. Johnie worked for Mobil Chemical from 1970 to 1994 and then enjoyed working as a truck driver.

Johnie was preceded in death by his parents; and grandson, Lane McAdoo.

He is survived by his loving wife, Bernice of Troy; brother, James Elsenburg of Holland; sister, Patricia Vargeson of Troy; son, Johnie Elsenburg III of Germany; son, Joe Elsenburg of Austin; son, Eddie Elsenburg of Santa Fe, Texas; daughter, Pam Mims of Frisco; daughter, Kristi Burnett of Belton; daughter, Kim McAdoo of Belton; grandchildren, Cory Maruna, Johnie Elsenburg IV, April Mashburn, Mason Elsenburg, Madison Elsenburg, Emery Elsenburg, Elyn Elsenburg, Matt Sullivan, Shelby Fleck, Melanie Mims, Lindsey Mims, Hannah Kelley, Dillyn McAdoo, Trinity McAdoo; and great grandchildren, Ryker McAdoo, Emery Fleck, Halle Fleck, Bennett Sullivan, Cary Mashburn, Porter Mashburn, Natalia Mashburn, Heidi Mashburn, Emma Elsenburg, Adalyn Elsenburg, Rory Elsenburg, Brayden Maruna, Nova Maruna, Serenity Maruna, and Madison Maruna.
