John Staub

John Jack H. Staub, Jr., 74, of Temple passed away, Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home.
He was born in 1937 to the late John Henry and Grace Margaret Surplus Staub in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Jack proudly served his country in the US Air Force from 19561962. Jack married the love of his life, Dianne Wheeler, on April 15, 1961 in Washington, DC. He had lived in this area since 1978 and was very active within the community civic organizations. He was a life member of the Temple Lions Club and was of the Methodist faith. He was employed for over 33 years with the Veterans Administration.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Janet Staub Turner.
He is survived by his best friend and devoted wife, Dianne Staub of Temple son, David Staub of Austin daughter, Angela Staub Lo and husband, Peter of Plano and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 68 p.m., Thursday, September 1, 2011 at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Temple. Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 2, 2011 at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen with military honors. Chaplain Elwood Smith will officiate.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
