John Gomez

alignjustifyJohn Gomez, 76 of Temple, passed away November 14, 2008 at a local hospital. Funeral mass will be 10:00am Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Temple with Rev. Tom Chamberlain officiating. Burial will be 1:00pm Wednesday at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.

alignjustifyJohn Gomez was born August 29, 1932 to Serapio and Manuela Castillo Gomez in Belton. On June 13, 1954 he married Juanita Reyes at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Temple. Mr. Gomez served in the United States Army, as well as the National Guard Reserves. He worked as a self employed station operator and mechanic. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Organization. Mr. Gomez was a member of the Asociacion de Santo Nombre at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Temple.

alignjustifySurvivors include his wife of 54 years, daughter, Connie Nunez of Temple, brothers; Concepcion Gomez and Robert Gomez both of San Diego, California, sisters; Margaret Cruz of Anaheim, California, Tommie Gomez, Annie Martinez, and Sally Rosales, all of San Diego, California, 5 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

alignjustifyVisitation will be 6-8pm Tuesday at Harper Talasek Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited at 7:00pm.BRBRHarper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of the arrangements.
