Services with military honors for John Richard Branom, Sr., 73, of Killeen will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Central Texas State Veteran's Cemetery in Killeen.
Mr. Branom died Thursday, April 14, at a local hospital.
John Richard Branom was born September 28, 1942 in Kenedy, Texas to John Quinton Branom and Helen Marie Hearn Branom. He joined the Texas National Guard and then transferred to active duty as an Infantryman in the U.S. Army. He was a veteran of the Viet Nam Era. His last ten years of military service were spent at the Pentagon, where he retired with the rank of Major. After retirement, John was a Charter Boat Captain and a Private Investigator in Florida. He was a member of the American Legion, the Texas Rifle Association, and a Golden Eagle member of the National Rifle Association.
Mr. Branom was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jay Branom.
He is survived by his son, John R. Branom and wife, Amy; three brothers, Randy, Loc, and Tommy; five sisters, Carol, Mary, Tammi, Linda, and Donna; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. - noon, Wednesday, April 20, at the funeral home.
