JoEva Isgate Mobley was born April 14, 1924 in Alto, Texas and went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 25, 2017, in Temple, Texas, at the age of 92 years, 10 months, and 11 days.
JoEva's family moved to Houston, Texas, when she was a baby. She grew up with three sisters (her older sister Ruth, her twin sister LoAva, and her baby sister Ann) and one brother (Calvin). She married Lester Mobley on Oct. 31, 1942, and remained married to him until his death January 17, 1985.
JoEva did her part in the war effort as a welder at the shipyard during World War II. After the war she worked 13 years for Sunniland Furniture, then 25 years as the executive secretary for the President of Cargill Stationery. After her retirement she worked as secretary to the senior pastor of Church in the City where she had been a deaconess for several years. When she was 64 she moved to Munich, Germany where she worked very hard for 4 years as a missionary helper under the MAPs program. She helped start a church, which is now the Munich Vineyard Church.
In 1992 she returned to the U.S. and settled in Temple, Texas to be close to her daughter Barbara. During that time she was active as a volunteer at her apartment building (Golden Haven and Graham Hall), her church outreach ministries, Scott & White Hospital, and anywhere she thought she could be useful. She also attended Temple Jr. College taking art classes. She enjoyed painting, ceramics, needlework, and reading.
JoEva loved her Lord Jesus with all her heart, loved people, and worked diligently at all she did until she was no longer able to do so.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her four siblings. She is survived by her daughter Barbara and son-in-law Donald Foster, daughter Lucie and son-in-law Herschel Rosser, 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
