Jo Copeland

Services for Jo Bob Copeland, 93, of Temple, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 27 at Memorial Baptist Church with Pastor Ridge Adams officiating. Burial will be private at Bellwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Temple.

Mrs. Copeland passed away Tuesday, February 21, at her home, surrounded by her family.

Jo Bob Copeland was born January 4, 1924 to Chester Coleman Curry and Jewel Blair in Bell County, Texas. She graduated from McGregor High School, Class of 1941, and later earned an associate's degree from Draughton Business School in Waco.

She worked as a field engineer at the Blue Bonnet ordinance plant in McGregor until her move to Temple, where she worked for American Desk and for Kimbell Wholesale Grocery until 1955. In 1955 Jo Bob began her career at Scott & White Memorial Hospital. She retired from Scott & White in 1983, after 28 years of service, as the Director of the Insurance and Accounts Receivable departments.

She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 1820, a charter member of the Scott & White Credit Union, and a Scott & White Pioneer. She had a servant's heart and enjoyed volunteering for Scott & White and the Elks Lodge.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Isla Jean Hagler of Marlin; and a brother, Raybern M. Curry of Temple.

Survivors include her two sons, Billy Blair Noble of Austin, and Bobby and Janis Noble of Temple; three nieces; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are in the care of Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
