Jimmie Louise Whitlock

Jimmie Louise Whitlock, age 89, of Temple, passed from this life Wednesday, August 13, 2025. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, at Bellwood Memorial Park & Cemetery.

Jimmie was born on December 8, 1935, in Temple, Texas, to Marshall Lee and Reba Louise Rowe. She worked for many years as a clerk with the Santa Fe Railroad and was a devoted member of Immanuel Baptist Church on 25th Street. Jimmie had a passion for gardening, painting, cooking, sewing, and fishing. She deeply loved her children, grandchildren, and her beloved pets, which included both dogs and birds. One of her favorite pastimes was taking drives to collect Beanie Babies, a hobby she thoroughly enjoyed.

Jimmie is preceded by her parents, Marshall and Reba Rowe; beloved husband, Jack Dowe Whitlock; daughter, Brenda Sue Watkins; brothers, Marshall Lee Rowe Jr., Norman Rowe, and David Charles Rowe; sisters, Vera Sue Cobb, and Gretna Kinsley; and grandchild, Kelley J. Watkins.

Survivors include son, Terry Todd Whitlock; daughters, Anna Rea, Connie Wentzel, and Anita Cooney; sisters, Margaret Ann McDonald, and Ruth Dunaway; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 15, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
