Jessie Wayne Robinson, 87, of Academy, passed away on January 28, 2013 at a local care facility. Services have been set for Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 10 am at the funeral home chapel with Pastor Don Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Wilson Valley Cemetery, with full military honors and Masonic graveside rites.
Jessie was born on September 18, 1925 to Albert and Johnnie Hightower Robinson in Rockwall, Tx. He graduated from Killeen High School. He was initiated on August 3, 1968 in Zerne Masonic Lodge 615 in Holland, Texas. He was passed to the degree of Fellowcraft on May 31, 1969 and raised to the Sublime degree of a Master Mason on July 5, 1969. He served as Worshipful Master of Zerne Lodge in 1975. He affiliated with Knob Creek Masonic Lodge 401 in 1975, where he served as Worshipful Master in 19871988. He faithfully served Knob Creek as Secretary for 19 years. Brother Robinson served as District Deputy Grand Master of Masonic District 48 of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Texas in 1994 and as District Education Officer in 1995. He was an endowed member and held an A teaching certificate in the esoteric work of the Lodge. Brother Robinson was a member of Karem Shrine from 1975 to 2001. He was a member of the Waco Scottish Rite Bodies. Brother Robinson served with distinction in the York Rite bodies. He was a Past Commander and Past Recorder of Temple Chapter 199 Royal Arch Mason, as well as, a recipient of the 2003 Cornerstone Award. He served the Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Texas as Grand Master of the First Veil in 1993 and as District Deputy High Priest in 1994. He was a Past Thrice Illustrious Master and Past Recorder of Temple Council 137 Royal and Select Masters and the 2003 recipient of the Cryptic Triangle Award. Brother Robinson served the Grand Council as District Deputy Grand Master in 1999. Brother Robinson was a member of St. Austin Conclave, Red Cross of Constantine, the Texas York Rite College 14, and a member of Texas Priory No. 23 Knights of the York Cross of Honour. Brother Robinson was a Past Worthy Patron on Temple Chapter 153, order of the Eastern Star. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army by retiring on August 9, 1962 at the rank SFC E7. On November 5, 1955 he married the love of his life, Billie Faye Thomas. After retiring from the Army he also retired from the post office.
He was preceded in death by his wife on October 17, 2005, also preceding him were his parents, sister Betty Jean Haynes, and a granddaughter, Whitney Robinson.
He is survived by his son, Martin Robinson and wife Cherri, daughter Rhonda RobinsonSisneroz both of Academy, sisters Ethel Maye Poor of Red Oak, OK and Lonnie Faye Coleman of Soddy Daisy, TN, a brother Glen Robinson of Albuquerque, NM and 4 grandchildren Stephanie Robinson, Taylor Robinson, Hunter Sisneroz and Hayden Sisneroz and a host of dear friends.
A visitation will be Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at the funeral home from 68.
Memorials may be made to Knob Creek Lodge 401 or The Shriners Hospital of Galveston, or the charity of your choice. HarperTalasek Funeral Home Temple is in charge of services.
