Jesse Rivera

Jesse T. Rivera, age 87 of Temple, passed away Sunday, July 4, 2021 at his home. Private graveside services will be held by the family.

Jesse was born on June 8, 1934 in Temple, Texas. He proudly served in the United States Army for 15 years, including serving in Vietnam. After his military service, he was a meat cutter for 30 years before retirement. He married Maria L. Barbosa on September 2, 1958. Jesse was a proud veteran who loved his country and his family. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Jesse is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Maria L. Rivera; and his son, Burt Rivera.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his daughter, Belinda Rivera of Temple; daughter, Elaine Wylie of Temple; daughter, Natalie Garcia of Temple; son, Glenn Rivera of San Antonio; 8 grandchildren, Naticia, Nicolas, Anthony, Marcus, Sebastian, Sabrina, Matthew, and Amanda; and 6 great grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held from 5-7 pm with a rosary recited at 6 pm Friday, July 9, 2021 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
