Jesse Morgan

Private services are planned for Jesse Porter Morgan, 87, of Temple. Mr. Morgan passed away Monday, October 19, 2015, at a local hospital.

Jesse Morgan was born December 23, 1927 in Houston to Jesse Porter Morgan and Cora Louisa Boatman Morgan. Jesse began his military service in 1945, serving a short time in the U.S. Navy and the remainder of his time in the U.S. Army. He served in World War II, the Korean Conflict, and the Viet Nam War as a Paratrooper, a Ranger and with the Green Berets in Viet Nam. After his retirement from military service 1n 1966, Jesse worked for the Veterans Administration until his second retirement in 1975. He was a member of the VFW, the American Legion, and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Temple.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Louisa.

He is survived by his daughters, Yvette Morgan Shepherd of Temple and Valerie Hanavan of Kerrville; a brother, Jerry Morgan of Virginia; four grand-children and eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
