Jerome Becker

Mr. Jerome A. Becker, 86, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2011 in a local hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, November 21 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Marys Catholic Church, Temple, with Reverend Rajan Cletus officiating.

He was born to the late Adam and Clara Hering Becker on October 11, 1925 at Lott, Texas. He was a farmer and rancher.

Mr. Becker was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus , life member of the DAV, American Legion and VFW. He served in WWII and in the Korean War for which he received a Purple Heart. He retired from the Marines. He also won the Golden Glove Championship in Temple.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Kolodejcak Becker of Rogers 4 sons, Jerome A. Becker and wife Beth and William J. Becker all of College Station, Kenneth Becker and wife Dianne and Robert Becker all of Rogers 1 daughter, Mary Becker Breeden and husband Harry of Huntsville, AL. sisters, Eve McElfish of San Berdino, CA and Martha Carter of Lake Wales, FL. grandchildren, Jerome Andrew Becker and wife Elana, Emily Becker, Bryan Becker, Christina Stantis and husband Spencer, William Breeden, Vanessa Drimalas and husband Thano, and Stacey Henson and husband Ben, 1 great grandchild, Monica Joy Becker.

Visitation will be held at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Temple on Sunday, November 20, 2011 from 57 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m.

Memorials may be sent to St. Marys Catholic Church, Temple or a charity of choice.
