Jean Morton, 70 of Temple, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2009 at her residence. Visitation will be 1:00pm 2:00pm Saturday May 16, 2009 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home. Services will follow at 2:00pm Saturday at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel in Temple with Rev. John Koester officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple.
Ms. Morton was born August 13, 1938 to Dennie Decator and Artie Elizabeth Lambright Dixon in Coryell County. On January 20, 1958, she was married to Kenneth Jack Morton in Dallas, Texas. Jean Morton worked as a secretary for American Harvester for 13 years. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Temple. In 1999, she moved from Cedar Creek Lake to Temple.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brother, Dennie Dixon, sister Dixie Persley, and grandchild, Sabrina Huggins.
Survivors include: daughter, Lisa Morton of Temple, brothers; Dean Dixon of Temple, Ira Paul Dixon of Kansas, and Ricky Dixon of Waco, sisters; Clara Saverino of Temple, Ruth Green, and Jerry Riley of Gatesville, and 1 grandchild.
