Mrs. Jean Brown, 98, of Temple, died Wednesday, April 8, 2009 in a Temple health care center.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with Rev. David Alwine officiating. Private burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple.
Mrs. Brown was born to Brig. Gen. Henry C. Dooling and Nellie Essler Dooling in Norwood, Pennsylvania on April 14, 1910. She had been a resident of Temple since 1948. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church. She formerly served as President of the Temple Garden Club, the Tuesday Study Club, and had been active in numerous civic organ-izations.
Survivors include one son, George Brown of Temple; four grandchild-ren; and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Jesse Benjamin Brown, a former Kings Daughters Hospital physician, on September 22, 1975.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Christ Church School
formerly McGowen-Stephens, 317 North 1st Street, Temple, Texas 76501.
