J.D. "Popo" Mcbride

James Dillard “J.D.” McBride, age 91 of Temple, passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple. Burial will follow in Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen at 3 pm.

J.D. was born on October 12, 1929 to William Allen McBride and Dessie Zereda Wigginton in Rosebud, Texas. He married Alma Mariam Jernigan on July 3, 1954. He graduated from Temple High School. A Korean War veteran, J.D. worked in civil service at Ft. Hood until his retirement. He also worked at American Desk.

J.D. was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Alma. He was also preceded by his sister, Glenda Fay and brother, Carrol Avon McBride.

He is survived by his sister, Phyllis Rauch of New Mexico; daughter, Carla Gayle McBride and husband, Rolf of Temple; son, William Allen McBride and wife, Angie of Temple; granddaughter, Megan Brianna Redmond and husband, Deion of Jarrell; grandson, Logan Allen McBride of Belton; and great grandson, Carter Anthony Redmond.
