Janie Francis Schneider, 79, passed away Wednesday, December 9th, at a local nursing home after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimers disease. A funeral celebrating her life will be at 10:00 am Saturday at the Harper Talasek Funeral Home.
Janie, the daughter of George Clark and Lizzie Barker Clark was born February 9th, 1930 in Waco, Texas. Janie was a life-time resident of Bell County, and attended Belton public schools. Janie had three sisters Juanita, Mary and JoAnn whom she loved very much. She married Edward Schneider on February 17, 1951. They made their home in Temple and had two daughters, Judy Ann and Sherry Elaine. Janie was a devoted mother and wife and was a homemaker while her children were young. After raising her family, Janie worked for 25 years at Safeway Grocery Store and then in the Temple Independent School District in the cafeteria until she retired.
Janie devoted her life to her faith, family and friends and was a faithful member of Western Hills Church of Christ where she was known and loved by adults and children alike. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Love of Christ Food Pantry .In her spare time she loved growing flowers, playing cards, reading and she loved to travel and has left her grandchildren with many special memories of vacations with her. She also loved to eat Bluebell Ice Cream and always made sure she had some on hand to share with company. The joy of Janies life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful and loving Grandmother and spent as much time as she could with them. Janie always tried to make each member of her family know they were special and loved. Janie was a sports lover and loved to watch and support the Houston Astros and the Dallas Stars. She was also an ardent supporter of her grandchildrens sports endeavors and never missed an event.
In addition to being a wonderful mother and grandmother Janie was also a terrific friend and she enjoyed spending time with her special group of friends including Virginia, Barbara and JoFaye. The four of them made many special memories together.

Janie was proceeded in death by her parents, George and Lizzie, her husband, Edward and her sister, Juanita Carver. Survivors include: two daughters, Judy Ann Hearell and Sherry Elaine Caffey, both of Temple, two sisters Mary Collier and JoAnn Bilbrey of Temple and five grandchildren, Stacey Hawkins, Jennifer Williams, Kelly Erdman, Kyle Caffey, and Joshua Caffey and five great-grandchildren, Samantha Williams, McKayla Williams, Addyson Williams, Maddie Hawkins and Camille Erdman. PJanie was a treasure and will be truly missed.
