James Prince

Funeral services for James Royce Prince, 87, of Temple, will be held at 10 AM Saturday, January 26, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Temple, 8015 W Adams Avenue. Pastors Gary Anthony and David Smith will be officiating the service. A time of visitation and fellowship will take place from 5 PM to 7 PM Friday, January 25, 2019 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home of Temple, 500 W. Barton Ave.

Mr. Prince passed from this life on Tuesday, January 22, 2019. James was born in Dallas on August 12, 1931 to Albert James and Annie Mae Prince.

James has lived in Temple for over forty years. He was a long-time faithful member of First Baptist Church of Temple. Mr. Prince was heavily involved in the Optimist Club of Temple. James was an Electrical Engineer by trade and was well-respected in our area. He enjoyed fishing and playing golf in his free time. He was an extremely devoted husband to his beloved wife, Dorothy. They enjoyed many wonderful years together. One of the things they loved to do together was go square dancing. James will be remembered as a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. It is without a doubt that James' greatest treasure in life was his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother; two sisters; and a son, James Robert "Bob" Prince.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his loving wife of 68 years, Dorothy Louise Prince; daughter, Jamye Lou Prince; sons, Barry Kevin Prince and wife, Tammy, Timothy Neil Prince and wife, Ramalou; sister, Nelda Marie Easley and husband, Ray; as well eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
