James Kent Patureau, age 75, passed away on December 22, 2016.
Kent is survived by his wife, Marie of Temple; 2 daughters, Karen Campbell of Moody and Michelle Frazier of Kansas City, Mo; 1 son, Mitchell Patureau of Temple; 4 brothers, Elmo Patureau, Gerald Patureau, Mike Patureau and Gerald Wayne Harrington; 3 grandchildren, Alyssa Frazier, Adam Frazier and Mackenzie Patureau. He was preceded in death by his parents and a step-brother, Craig Harrington.
James Kent Patureau was born August 30, 1941 in Beaumont, Texas to Elmo Lebon and Geraldine (Wilkerson) Patureau. He graduated from LSU in Baton Rouge with a degree in Industrial Technology in 1963. In 1971, he moved to Lake Jackson, Texas and accepted a position as a Traffic Manager at Dow Chemical, where he worked for more than 26 years.
Kent was a great family man and a loving father. He married Marie Ann Fontenot in 1961 and the couple had 3 children together.
Kent was a social, active man who was deeply involved in the Catholic Church, family life and camping. He enjoyed reading, computer work and antique cars. He was a member of the Corvette Club, Antique Car Club and Porsche Club. He served his community as past president of the Lion's Club and as a volunteer fireman for over 20 years. His family and friends will always remember him as a loving father and very caring person.
A funeral is scheduled for Kent at 10:30 am on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel in Temple with Father John Kim officiating. Burial will follow at Moffat Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 pm on Monday, December 26, 2016 at the funeral home.
