James Malone

November 19, 1919 — October 2, 2010

James F Malone, 90 of Temple, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2010 in a Temple nursing facility. Graveside services with full military honors will be Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at the Central Texas Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.

Mr. Malone was born November 19, 1919 to Jim and Annie Sirratt Malone in Hot Springs, Arkansas. On November 15, 1944, he married Cora Byrd in Little Rock, Arkansas. James Malone earned a Masters Degree in both English and Business Administration. Mr. Malone proudly served our country in the United States Army. He served in New Guinea, New Zealand, and Australia during WWII. He served with 333rd Combat Engineers. He also received a Silver Star. James Malone was a 50 year Mason. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cameron, Texas.

Survivors include: his wife, Cora Malone of Houston, his daughters Marianne Fayrweather and husband Dan of Houston, Marge Jerram of Houston, and Kathy Krimsky of Missouri City, Texas, grandchildren Merritt Smith, Ryan Fayrweather, Reid Fayrweather, Rainne Jerram, Morgan Krimsky, Stephanie Krimsky, and Celeste Krimsky, and 9 great grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to William R Courtney Texas State Veterans Home, 1424 Martin Luther King Jr. Lane, Temple, TX 76504.
