Monday, March 20, 2023, Jacqueline Doris Walker Casey went to be with her Lord. She was 100 years, 7 months, and 3 days on this earth. Graveside services will be held at 10 am Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Roberts Cemetery in Troy, TX.
Doris was born on August 17, 1922, in Burkburnette, TX to Alfred Thomas and Clara Asalee McCall Walker. She was the fifth child of eight including Anna Juanita "Boy," Wynola Ruth "Wallie," Pauline Elizabeth, Daniel Felix "D. F.," James Houston "Jamie," Clara Marie "Weecie," and Nora Lee. Doris taught English in Oregon for many years and was a school librarian near Waco, TX. She married Albert Dewel "Dude" Casey on December 7, 1968, in Bell, TX. They welcomed her parents, A.T. "Doc" and Clara, into their home during their final years. Doris and Dude were blessed with 37 years together before he passed away. Doris was a member of First Baptist Church of Troy, TX. Her zest for life, gentle kindness, love of family, and common sense will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Aunt Doris "Jacqui" is survived by one sister, Nora, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Her family would like to thank the people at the Autumn Wind Living Center in Winnsboro, TX for their excellent care and thoughtful kindness during Doris (Jacqui)'s stay there these last years.
