Isabel Moreno

Isabel Nieto Moreno, 96 of Temple, passed away in Plfugerville, Texas, on December 3, 2010. He was born in Laredo, Texas, on October 10, 1914, to Marcelino and Antonia Moreno. Around 1924 , after the unfortunate death of his parents, Isabel, along with his brother Jacinto, were brought to Temple and adopted by Genaro and Paula Nieto. During his school days in Temple school district, Isabel was fortunate to have been a part of a winning tradition at Reagan, for the Mustangs in 1932 won what was considered the State Junior High Championship football game.

Isabel married Juanita Rangel on March 29, 1945. Throughout his life, Isabel worked as a cookchef for many restaurants, most famously the Hotel Hawn and Kyle Hotel. Prior to retiring, he worked as a custodian for Temple Independent School District. He and his wife were active members at El Divino Salvador Church and the Gl Froum in Temple.
Isabel is preceded in death by his loving wife Juanita and brother Jacinto.

He is survived by sons Conrad with wife Maggie of Widomar CA, Refugio Garcia of Austin, Gilbert with wife Sonya of Laredo, Ronnie of Temple daughters Mary Renteria with husband Eugene of Euless, Jo Ann Donoso with husband Paul of Temple, Estella Ares with husband Jose of Temple, and Sylvia Moreno of Pflugerville. He has been blessed to have 16 grandchildren, 24 greatgrandchildren and two greatgreatgrandchildren who all loved their Papo.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the wonderful people from AMED services of Austin. Your staff did a wonderful job each day they come to visit dad and brightening up his day. Special thank you to Ashley, Debra, and Melonie: Thanks for keeping his spirits up each day you came to spoil him.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Tuesday December 7, 2010 at HarperTalasek Chapel, burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, with Minister Rumaldo Jimenez officiating.

The family will receive friends from 67 PM Monday with a prayer service at 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to El Divino Salvador Church, 3406 Rosewood Drive, Temple TX 76502.
