Irene G. Brennan, age 100 of Temple, passed from this life Monday, February 19, 2024. Private family services will be held by the family at a later date.
Irene was born on May 15, 1923, to Russel and Orilla (Compton) Heflin in Charlestown, West Virginia. She married Raymond L. Brennan, and they shared 51 beautiful years of marriage before his passing. Irene worked as an Executive Secretary for the State of Maryland Department of Water & Sewer until retirement. She was a devoted member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church. Irene enjoyed spending her retirement traveling with her husband. After their retirement, Raymond and Irene moved to Mesa, Arizona where they lived until his passing in 1999. Irene and son David then moved to Temple, Texas to be closer to Carol where she lived until her passing. Irene loved the challenge of a Word Search and other puzzles she found in her daily newspaper. She was a wonderful and loving wife and mother to her children. She was loved by all who were lucky enough to have known her.
