Ira Perry Jr.

September 14, 1939 — February 20, 2013

Ira L. Perry, Jr., Morgans Point Resort passed away on February 20, 2013 in Temple at a local hospital. He was born on September 14, 1939 in Belton to Ira L. and Frances Schneider Perry.

Ira and Patricia Copeland Perry were married on December 20, 1957 at the Eastside Baptist Church, Temple, officiated by his father Rev. Ira L. Perry, Sr.

He served in the Air Force. He retired from Civil Service as an inspector, Ft. Hood after 21years of service.

In his early years he pastored Bottoms Baptist Church, Troy, Childrens Church, Meadow Oaks Baptist and Dyess Grove Baptist both of Temple.

While in the VA Hospital, Temple, he found a ministry of witnessing for the Lord to the other patients, their families and anyone that would lend him an ear. He had a unique way of witnessing for the Lord. This gave him great joy and a purpose to face each day that he was on Hospice Care.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife daughter, Charlotte Ann Perry Callaway of Temple son, Ira Lee Perry, III of Franklin, TN. brother, Henry Warren Perry of Corpus Christi 4 grandchildren 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 2 pm at Anchor of Hope Fellowship, Belton officiated by Rev. Sam Callaway and Rev. Ernest Thompson. Visitation will be held at HarperTalasek Funeral Home, Temple from 68 Friday, February 22, 2013.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Anchor of Hope Fellowship located at 5700 FM 439, Belton or to the Charity of Choice.
