Ignacio Martinez

Ignacio Martinez, of Rogers passed away Saturday, November 13, 2010 in a local assisted living facility.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Temple with the Rev. Tom Chamberlain officiating. Interment will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park.

Mr. Martinez was born in Maysfield, TX on February 1, 1918 to the late Frederico and Maria Melendez Martinez. He was a farmer all his life in the Rogers area and he was member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Temple for many years. He was married to the late Angelita Constancio Martinez in Cameron, TX on September 18, 1940 and she preceded him in death, he was also preceded in death by son Ricardo Ricky Martinez and 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

Mr. Martinez is survived by sons: Roy Martinez of Temple, Rudolph Martinez of Temple, George Martinez of Rogers, daughters: Janie M. Rodriguez of Heidenheimer, Irene M. Frederick of Nacogdoches, Carmen Magana of Rogers, Phyllis Martinez of Temple and Yolanda M. Moore of California, sisters: Manuela Martinez of Temple and Bennie Escalante of Temple, also survived by 18 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and many great greatgrandchildren and other family members.

Visitation will be 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 16 with a rosary to follow at 7 p.m. at HarperTalasek Funeral Home Chapel.
