Obituary

Huldrich Koch, 91, of Temple, Texas, passed away on October 29, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to his family and faith.

Huldrich was born on September 8, 1935, in Lipscomb, Texas, to Rudolf and Lydia Koch. A first-generation American, he was one of six children raised on a farm in the Texas Panhandle, where he developed the strong work ethic and values that would guide him throughout his life. He attended college and went on to build a successful career as a computer executive, becoming a pioneer in the computer industry. His dedication and accomplishments earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and those who had the privilege of working alongside him.

One of the greatest joys of Huldrich's life was his beloved wife, Doris. The two met at a roller-skating rink when Huldrich asked Doris to skate, beginning a beautiful love story that would span 70 years. Together, they built a life centered on family, faith, and their devotion to God. After seven decades of marriage, Huldrich was reunited with his beloved Doris in Heaven on October 29, 2026.

Huldrich had a love for the outdoors and especially enjoyed golfing, fishing, camping, and spending time in the mountains. He was known for his kind and generous spirit, his love of having fun, and his ability to enjoy life's simple pleasures. Those who knew him, whether family, friends, or colleagues, remember a man who was genuinely caring, respected by many, and always willing to share his kindness with others.

Above all, Huldrich treasured his family and the life he and Doris built together. His unwavering faith, generosity, and love for those around him will continue to be remembered by all whose lives he touched.

Huldrich was preceded in death by his loving wife, Doris M. Koch; his parents, Rudolf and Lydia Koch; his son, Donald E. Koch; and his brothers, Robert Koch and Clarence Koch.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Cynthia Powell and Carolee Couch; his brother, Vernon Dean Koch; his sisters, Louise Bruce and Nancy Rowell; his grandchildren, Sandra Young, Lesleigh Reynolds, Dean Harnes, Shannon Loose, Jordan Powell, Amber Renes, Jacob Wheatley, Jocelyn Couch, Mackenzie Torres, and Kelsey Bridgers; and his great-grandchildren, Dana, Samantha, Noah, Ben, Aaron, Rilynn, Taylor, Reese, Quinn, Holden, Finley, Samantha (Sky), Kirin, Leon, Ren, Elijah, Joshua, Benjamin, Beaudie, and Kobe. He also leaves behind extended family members, friends, and loved ones who will forever cherish his memory.

Huldrich will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and a man of remarkable character whose life was defined by faith, family, and generosity. Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing he has been reunited with Doris, his partner of 70 years.
