Hester Shows

Services for Hester Elaine Shows, 95, of Davilla, Texas formerly of Dime Box, Texas will be 10:00 am Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Rogers, Texas with Dr. Allen Raynor and Pastor Allan Clearly officiating. Interment will follow at Hebron Cemetery of Dewitt County.

Mrs. Shows went to her heavenly home on October 17th surrounded by her loving family.

Hester Elaine Shows was born on August 10, 1920 to George Rupert Hendrix and Hester Belle Fulcher Hendrix. She graduated from Blessings High School. Elaine married John Wayne Shows of College Port on September 23, 1938 and they were blessed with two children. In 1978 they moved to Dime Box, Texas and became Cattle Ranchers. Her heart was with the youth in volunteering in The Dime Box Lions Club, Cub Scouts, and The Lee County Junior Livestock Program. Elaine had a servant's heart with the Lord being her leader. She cared for her family and her community. Elaine taught Vacation Bible School, Sunday school, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Rogers.

She is preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Shows of 66 years; parents; one son, John Wayne Shows, Jr.; two brothers, George Rupert Hendrix, Bill Hendrix; and one sister, Marguerite Dennis.

Survivors include daughter; Pat Griffith and husband Jerry; sister, Patsy Ruth Howard; six grandchildren, Angela Griffith, Christine Schiller and husband Michael, Jeff Shows and wife Kimberly; Kathleen Hoover and husband Allen, Danny Shows, and Jamie Shows; seven great grandchildren; Courtney Schiller, Chase Griffith, Kaci Shows, Kelly Shows, Allison Hoover, Payton Hoover, Lane Hoover; three great-great grandchildren, Addisyn Griffith, Khloe Griffith, and Jaxson Smith.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 pm Tuesday, October 20th at the funeral home.
