Memorial services for Henry Edwin Brummett, 69, of Temple, will be 4 p.m. Friday, November 29, 2013 at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Temple with Garry Christian officiating.

Mr. Brummett died Friday, November 22, at a care facility in Bartlett.

He was born May 3, 1944, in Temple to William and Myrtle McCormick Brummett. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War 1966 1968, attaining the rank of E4. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal with two overseas bars, the Sharpshooter Rifle M14 Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. After leaving military service, he was a mechanic for over 35 years.

Mr. Brummett was preceded in death by his parents four brothers, John, Walter, Olan, and Sonny one sister, Emma Busby and one granddaughter, Liberty Brummett.

He is survived by his wife, the former Winnie Clapper six sons, Michael Lee Brummett of Temple, James and Robert Brummett of Holland, Timothy Brummett of Belton, and Billy and Corky Evans of Belton two daughters, Brenda Christian of Academy and Rhonda Price of Waco two brothers, Carol Brummett of China Springs and Elmo Brummett of Oregon numerous grandchildren and several greatgrandchildren.
