Helen Tome

Mrs. Helen E. Sebek Tome, 88, of Temple, died Monday, January 12, 2009 in a Temple nursing center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, January 15, 2009 at Ocker Brethren Church with Rev. Ron Winsman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Tome was born to Joe and Frances Koslasky Sebek in Rosebud on December 24, 1920. She married Deswood Tome in Dallas on July 27, 1957. She had been a resident of Temple for the past 35 years, moving here from Dallas, where she lived for several years. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a secretary with an insurance company. She was a member of Ocker Brethren Church.

Survivors include two brothers, Ed Sebek of Bryan and William W. Sebek of Temple; two sisters, Lydia Surovik of Rockdale and Alice Barr of Austin; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was pre-ceded in death by her husband in 1985.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
