Helen Keahey

Helen Keahey, 99, of Temple passed away October 8, 2007 in a local nursing home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Keahey will be Friday, October 12, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Hubert Austin officiating.

Mrs. Keahey was born in Temple, September 15, 1908 to Ned and Wilfred Caldwell Patterson. She was a retired Math Teacher from Temple ISD, she had attended University of Texas in Austin receiving her masters degree.

Mrs. Keahey was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Temple, served as a volunteer at the Veterans Administration; she was also a member of the DAR, Federated Club and the Retired Teachers Association.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Lon Keahey and a son Ned Franklin Keahey.

Mrs. Keahey is survived by: daughter-in-law, Elma Keahey of Arlington, grandchildren: Ned Frank Keahey, of Florida, Kathi Helen Keahey, of San Francisco, Sean Michael Keahey, of Killeen and Eric Horton Keahey, of Arlington; great-granddaughter, Regina Allison Keahey, of Arlington and great-great-grandson, Hayden Antony Vickers, of Arlington.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 11, 2007 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 102 N 2nd St. Temple, TX 76501.
