Helen Gillmeister

Mrs. Helen Kellermann Gillmeister, 89, of Temple, died Monday, March 3, 2008 in a local nursing center.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 7, 2008 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with Chaplain Buddy Burton and Pastor Joan Copeland officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple.

Mrs. Gillmeister was born to Herman and Olga Kraft Kellermann in Gruene, Texas on August 1, 1918. She graduated from New Braunfels High School in 1936. She married Herman Gillmeister in New Braunfels on June 24, 1971. Prior to her retirement in 1984, she was employed in the Credit Department of Foley's in Houston. She had been a resident of Temple for the past 4 years, moving here from Houston, where she had lived for 54 years. She was a member of Park Place Lutheran Church in Houston.

Survivors include her husband, Herman Gillmeister of Temple; one son, Marvin Schneider of Round Rock; 3 grandchildren, Steven Schneider and wife, Kristi, David Schneider, and Dana Ragsdill and husband, Sam; five great grandchildren, Ben Schneider, Colin Schneider, Kiera Schneider, Trinity Ragsdill, and Taylor Ragsdill.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Austin Chapter, P.O. Box 4829, Austin, Texas 78765.
